3 hour drive to Discovery Park Port Hedland. It's a very flat town known for its salt piles, lithium and iron ore. The park has a pool but it is closed for resurfacing and it's 36 degrees :( It's a fairly big park with plenty of room on site but the roads are very narrow. Amenities ok but floors look like they need a gurney. Checked out the salt piles from Redbank Bridge and the massive salt ponds. Found a viewing spot at the port and watched a huge tanker being guided in by the tugboats. Popped into the Esplanade Hotel which is just a beautiful sandstone building. Three stories high and it is still under renovation. Had a stir fry from a pop up at the park for dinner. Went down to the lookout at the beach to watch the staircase to the moon - quite amazing. Pity our good camera is out of action as the little one didn't do it justice.
