4 hour drive to Eighty Mile Beach with a stop for fuel at Sandfire Roadhouse where Al bought a t-shirt. 80 mile is so nice - glad we decided to stay here instead of Cape Keraudren. The cape was apparently flat, no shade, power or water and had sandflies. 80 Mile is a large park with lots of grassy areas and very well maintained. They have the best stocked shop I have seen in a caravan park. The beach has a WOW factor - it stretches for 137 miles (not 80) and the turquoise water meets the white sand and is just stunning. Saying that we were only game to go in up to our knees as it has a reputation for sharks. That's all the fishermen caught - sharks. The park goes as far as to not recommend swimming but says there have been no incidents in ages. The amenities are spotless. The sunset here is beautiful - they have viewing platforms and Al got some good drone shots. Again, the wind is following us - they say WA stands for "windy always". Brown jellyfish were washed up on the beach and we collected some shells for Al to put in a surfboard. The little shop here has the best ice cream especially the Cafe Grande. Chatted with a couple, Mandy & Kev - the husband was a policeman and they gave us some insight into the Aboriginal problems they experienced. We were going to have a last swim but there were jelly like things floating in the water so I gave it a miss. Definitely recommend this place though, it is so pretty.
