Only an hours drive to Riverview Tourist Village. The site is right next to the walkway to the hot springs. Nice big site - no water for a little while as the caravan across from us knocked over the water tap. There is an upper and lower pool - not quite as warm as Mataranka or Bitter Springs. There is a pool here too. Called into Tourist Information Centre to pick up some brochures, bought silicone for window latches and basket for cupboard and a small broom. Al bought new card for his Gopro - girl in shop was very helpful. Drove to Katherine Gorge - about 45mins - and walked to lookout - 2.8k. Views from lookout were great heap of steps to get down to finish the walk back to car. Thousands of bats in the trees. Checked out the markets but not much there at all. Bought a hat from the newsagents. Jabiru with ribbon around the top - very cowgirlish. Did the Outback Experience at a property at Uralla only 10 mins away. Really good to see how they handle the horses and dogs. The owner Tom Curtain is a multiple golden guitar winner who trains the wild and unwanted horses and dogs to be sold as working animals on rural properties. He also plays the guitar and sings during some of the show. There were also goats, water buffalo and Brahman cows.

Went for a 7k ride on our bikes - still find nothing enjoyable about riding a bike - nearly had a crash - was going too fast and forgot about brakes and was trying to slow down with my feet. Walked down to camp kitchen to watch Jillaine Jones who was soo good - an amazing voice and great choice of songs. Drove to Edith Falls about 70k away still in Nitmiluk National Park. Walk was more like a bush walk over rocks. Edith Falls were great - a bit tricky and very slippery to get down to and you had to get on your belly to get over some of the rocks. The did the Leliyn loop walk. This was a bit more rugged having to climb over large rocks, no real pathway in some parts. Some great lookouts along the way. Had a swim in the lower pool which was really big and swam over to the waterfall. Bumped into a park ranger on the way here and had a bit of a chat. Al picked up the Waeco which they didn't have the part for but Al may have found someone else in Darwin who can fix it. Went onto the Sunset Dinner Cruise. Drove to the Gorge - about 40 people on the tour. Got on a boat which took is down the first gorge. Beautiful scenery with the calm water and jagged steep cliffs. Short walk to the next boat in the second gorge. Saw a small croc sunning itself on the rocks and one about 2 metres in the water.

There was another one which we missed - we just saw the plop in the water when it slid off the bank. Got off this boat and walked back to the first one for dinner. As the sun started setting the bats soared overhead heading for their dinner too. Catfish swimming around the boat. Entree was a small camel meatball, square of kangaroo meat and smoked chicken slice with hummus and pesto. Choice of beef rib eye or barra for main. We both chose barra served with asparagus, sauces and salad. Dessert was chocolate cake with a cherry compote and fresh cream - all delicious. We also had one complimentary glass of bubbly with hibiscus flower or a beer.
