Quick one hour drive to Exmouth Cape Holiday Park. Nice big site in a big park. Couple across from us have sharpei called Kimba but it's a bit growly. Peter mentioned to Al about satellite dish so Al went to check it out and got a better deal on 2 of them. We've had terrible tv reception if any at all. He spent all the next morning trying to set it up but Peter bought a satellite seeker and fixed ours up. Went to Bundegi Beach snorkeling but saw nothing. Got a National Parks pass and wanted to snorkel so went to Oyster Stacks and Osprey Bay but they were both too windy. Drove up to Yardie Creek and saw a couple of turtles from the dunes but still too windy to snorkel so did the gorge walk. Stopped at Pilgramunna, Turquoise Bay and Lakeside where we saw a little manta ray. Looked at Mangrove Bay then went to see SS Mildura wreck. Did our Ningaloo Reef Adventure. Picked up at 7.45 and taken to catamaran at Tantabiddi boat ramp. Coasted along the reef. Spotter planes sighted a whaleshark but it didn't stay on the surface long enough for us to see it. Did briefly see a humpback and her calf. Lunch was chicken and salads. Had a snorkel over Billys bommie out from Mangrove Bay. We did see lots of fish on one of the snorkels and a reef shark which was the highlight of the day for me. We followed it and Al got some good shots. Did a drift snorkel where the boat dropped us off and picked us up downstream. Drove to Charles Knife Canyon. Al got some great shots as it wasn't too windy up here strangely enough. Went for a snorkel at Oyster Stacks and saw heaps of fish - all different shapes, sizes and colours. It's just amazing to be able to walk off the beach and straight onto the reef. We then went to Turquoise Bay but the snorkeling wasn't as good as Oyster Stacks but the beach is just beautiful - my pick of the beaches. Went to Whalebone Brewery for pizza and drinks with Gary, Linda, Keith and Sue for our last night. Keith loves to laugh at his own jokes - just precious. Al got a singlet from the brewery.
