4 hour drive to Bullara Station with a fuel stop at Nanutarra. Bullara is a working cattle station on quarter of a million acres. Very quirky with bucket showers, old cars and trucks scattered around the site. Some dormer sheep here and an emu. Fire pits, camp kitchens and play area for the kiddies. The old woodshed still has the shearing equipment for the clippers and the stalls where the sheep were kept. It now serves meals at night. The cafe serves freshly made scones which Al tried out. No power or water. Had guy playing guitar and singing who was really quite good and they came round with freshly baked damper - even Maggie the roo made an appearance - she's carrying her third joey. Bought t-towel with recipes for scones and damper printed on it. Did the bottle walk - saw butterflies, a few birds and a lizard feasting on ants. The station has a private access road to Exmouth Gulf - 20k's of red, corrugated sand. Thought there may have been a beach here but it's really just a spot for fishing although Al did get on his surfski and saw a couple of small turtles. I stood in the shallows and sword fish were swimming past my feet. Had lunch in the shed here where finches have made their home. Really strong winds the whole time we've been here.
