A good hour and a half drive with the usual landscape of arid, flat plains and more termite mounds. Croydon is a cute town - very small. Stayed at the Rodeo showground for $5 - only $5 if you stay 2 nights too. This included toilets and amenities - can't complain about that. Had a walk round town - a pretty old gold mining village which has preserved its heritage. Visited the police station with the prisoner out back who talks when you walk past a sensor. The courthouse has a case which unfolds regarding a female accused of being drunk and disorderly. Went to look at Lake Belmore - a lovely lake with lovely freshwater crocodiles. Paid a visit the the Club Hotel built in 1887 and the only remaining hotel from the gold rush.
