3 hour drive to Busselton Holiday Park. A nice big park with playground, jumping pillow, two pools - one heated- and games room. Amenities older but clean. About a 250m walk to the beach which is a beautiful long beach with those turquoise waters. Checked out the markets but arrived late and they were packing up. On a dull day we went to the movies to see No Time To Die, the latest Bond movie. A brilliant movie but how can there be another James Bond if he's dead? Visited the Shelter brewery and shared a garlic prawn and chilli pizza. Spent the day sneezing and blowing my nose - don't know where that came from. In between we drove to Collie via Wellington National Park where we stopped to look at the dam which has been painted with amazing artwork. Drove to the Rapids which weren't rapid due to no rain then to Big Rock, Long Pool and Honeymoon Bay but not much to see at any of these either. Then on to Black Diamond Lake which is a beautiful blue/green colour. Not supposed to swim in here because of amoebic meningitis but people were still on lilos and canoes. Checked out some street art in Collie but it was pretty well spread out and we probably missed some. Another day we checked out Dunsborough. First stop Eagle Bay then Bunker Bay. Next was the lighthouse on Cape Naturaliste and the whale platform where we bumped into out iso friends Kel and Rob. Went on to Sugarloaf Rock - quite spectacular. Went on to Canal Rocks where the waves were pumping in and looked very much like Horizontal Falls. Decided to check out the lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin but it was closed when we got there for repair. Went to Augusta boat harbour where we picked up some rock from the jetty and abalone shells from the abalone farm which were just lying in the garden out front. Checked out Flinders Bay, Cosy Corner and Hamelin Bay where we saw and patted a stingray. Had lunch at the White Elephant Cafe at Gnarabup beach. Checked out Surfers Point where the world titles are held then Southside, Mainbreak, Fragglerock and the river mouth. Called into Prevelly Beach where Al got a shot of a fence made up of 180 surfboards. Visited Simmos ice creamery with Karen and John - a massive property and heaps of people there. Dozens of flavours of ice cream. Al had jaffa and I had caramel pecan crunch. Had a drive out to Witchcliff and looked at the shops. Went to the Berry Farm and bought port, jam and a date and fig chutney. Drove to Margaret River and walked the quaint shops. Had lunch at the Beerfarm a converted dairy. Very rustic. Angus burger for Al and chilli crab linguine for me. Al got a t-shirt. After that went to the Honey Place where we bought honey and mead. Stopped at a chocolate place very much like the one at the Hunter Valley. Next stop a cereal and nut place for cereal and wasabi peas. Dairy was next and picked up a french onion and smoked cheddar cheese. Got to Flametree winery at 4.30 and quickly tasted a couple of chardys before they shut at 5. Bought the cheapest at $20, the expensive one was $60. Walked up Busselton Jetty on yet another very windy day. Had life size pictures on the ground at the end of the humpback, Southern Right and Blue whales. Had coffee and cake at Baked cafe. Walked around Dunsborough then Meelup Beach which had been closed for schoolies - a beautiful bay. Then checked out another beautiful beach - Castle Bay.
