Arrived Tallebudgera which is only an hour up the road from Byron. Finally in QLD. Park is huge and very busy as it is a long weekend here. Has a decent size swimming pool too and a shop and food truck.

Went to Burleigh Heads which is just across the bridge from where we are but they were closed for the day. Made pizza for dinner with what was left in fridge. Had a stroll along boardwalk. Back at the caravan listening to about three loud different kinds of music coming from a group right next to us who were travelling together. Fortunately they all packed up and left next day along with most of the park. Very quiet now.

Al finally got the surfski in the water but was tipped off by boat towing tube and doing donuts. Walked up to Tumgun lookout - quite spectacular views to Coolangatta and Surfers. Met some nice people at park - Ces and Diane next to us and Stan and Marie who also own a Bailey - they have a Pamplona.

Drove to Tamborine Mountain - beautiful countryside and we came upon some really nice quaint shops. Saw beautiful coffee candle but when I went back to get it it had been sold. The owner and her assistant said not a problem we'll make you one and you can pick it up on your way back which we did. It is in a balti dish and smells divine. Visited Castle Glen Australia which is a winery, brewery, liqueurs and distillery and Al got Drunken Knight a fusion of port with double helpings of rum and chocolate and I got Wicked Witch which is whiskey with coffee cream - both delicious. Next stop Curtis Falls - a good walk down to the waterfall. We have never seen such huge trees both in width and height. Al took heaps of photos. We came across one patch of very noisy bats. Off to St Bernards Hotel for a shared lunch of fish and chips where Al spied Andrew Bogat in the restaurant - said his knees came up to the top of the table. The two St Bernard dogs were totally disinterested and just wanted to sleep. Beautiful rainbow on way back but the skies were growing dark. Weather ok back at van but it did sprinkle through the night. Someone stole two bottles of ginger beer out of the waeco through the night. There was only water, coke and ginger beer in there and they probably thought it was beer. Love to see their faces when they found out what it was. Popped into Tweed Heads for Als beer as Aldi in QLD do not sell alcohol. Got my sunnies fixed at Specsavers as the arm had fallen off. Have to say we've done quite a few more k's than necessary as Als GPS has not been updated. She keeps taking us miles out of our way then sends us back the way we came. She's precious. Rain came over on our last day but we've been lucky cos they predicted rain for almost all of our stay here.
