On the way to Port Lincoln we stopped at Talia Caves - the cave itself is called The Woolshed. Went looking for Talia Caves but the Woolshed is it. While we were there checked out the Tub - a large crater with a tunnel connection to the sea. 10 - 30 metres deep and 50 metres across - just huge. Both the caves and the Tub overlook Anxious Bay. Stopped at Elliston to check out the sculptures along the Cliff Top Drive. Finally checked in to Port Lincoln Tourist Park which is on Boston Bay. Have water views :) :) Amenities old but ok. Swimming pool still under construction. Lots of weed on the beach here too. Checked out Coffin Bay but quite disappointed - nothing much here at all. Lots of waterfront properties but they have no view because of the scrub. Called into Oyster HQ and had the Aqua Seafood Taster and it was delicious. Neither of us liked oysters but we loved this. Oysters Kilpatrick and Italian Gremolata, Spencer Gulf prawns, tuna sashimi spoons, smoked salmon and cucumber bites, blue swimmer crab mousse in crunchy wantons, pickles squid and smoked oyster pate with crackers. Drove to Sleaford Bay and got some good photos then on to Whalers Way. The water is the magnificent aqua. No sign of the signposted whalers station or stromatolites. Got photos of Makybe Diva, the tuna poler, Mathew Flinders and his cat and the mosaic couch complete with scrabble on the stool. Lots of cafes and eateries along the foreshore. Drove to Tumby By - a quaint little town with a mix of modern and fish shack type houses. The silo artwork is amazing - two boys jumping off the jetty painted by an Argentinian artist. He even painted behind the curves of the silos - genius. Did the art trail - beautiful pieces on the sides of buildings. Fish and chips at the cafe to cap off the day.
