Broome Discovery Park just jaw dropping to see the beautiful turquoise water. Site only one row back from the water. Surprised they have aboriginal problems here too. Fortunate to be able to move sites because the bats in the tree above us kept us awake all night. Fighting and squabbling and dropping things on top of the van. Checked out some beaches - Riddell, Roebuck Deep and Gantheaume Point. The latter had about 100 cars parked on it. Saw the camels at Cable Beach then had a drink at Zanders. Another night went to Cable Beach to watch the sunset - absolutely spectacular one of the best we've ever seen. Had drinks and nibblies with Troy, Jo, twins Pipi and Lulu, Ben, Christie, Luca, Levi, Lennie, Shane, Cassie and Rob and Kel. Heaps of people here to watch the sunset. Had pizza with John and Deb at the Mangrove Hotel - lovely couple. Young guy singing and playing guitar - was really good, played all the 70's stuff. Lovely modern restaurant right on the water. Wanted to check out the roads to Cape Leveque so went for a drive. Stopped at Willie Creek which was just stunning - Al got some good drone shots. Stopped at Quandong Point then James Price Point. Great views here but the road to get to it was just awful - will not be bringing the van here. Visited Matsos for lunch - that's one off Alan's bucket list. Al had the paddle and I had a hard melon drink. Al got the barra and I had chicken salad but they forgot to put the chicken on - whoops. Joined Dave and Kristen at Peter and Shirleys van for drinks. She brought out cheese and nibblies with her homemade fig jam - it was delicious. Went to Courthouse markets - pretty good - bought a couple of paua shell bangles. I had a mango smoothie and Al had a mango, pineapple and orange drink. Went for another swim at Gantheaume Point then drinks with Dave and Kristen who was cooking roast pork according to Al. No TV reception here either. Went to Coconut Well - amazing - a turquoise tidal lagoon with hundreds of bath size rockpools. It's a rocky limestone outcrop so glad we had our shoes on. I drove back to Cable Beach alone the waterline. Weird driving on sand, wants to pull you all over the place. Finally, our Horizontal Falls adventure. Picked up at 5.30 and taken to airport to board the seaplane. Flight was really good. Had a female pilot Emma and it took about an hour to get to the Falls. Had the boat ride through the wide and narrow gaps - was really good - boat went at high speed and threw up some spray. Went for a cruise around Talbot Bay and saw the only Kimberley Rose Tree in sight - lovely red flowers. Brekkie on the pontoon - scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, beans, bread, cereals, tea, coffee, juices and fruit. Back on the boat for another run through the gaps - more water running this time. Back on seaplane (floatplane) to Lombadina, a bit bumpier this time because of the wind. Onto the 4WD bus to Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm. Tour very informative. Then lunch - barra and salad and rice. Driver took us down to Cape Leveque to walk on the beach and see the red rock formations. An amazing day.
