2 hr drive to Airlie Beach. Nice big park with pool, play areas etc. Did basic set up and Al went to bed. Dr Charlton rang to see how he was and if he wasn't any better in the morninghe'd have to go to hospital. He's really, really crook. Headed to Proserpine Hospital next morning who were expecting him after Dr Charlton faxed through his details. They hooked him up and gave him intravenous antibiotics, painkillers and throat gel. Had x ray which was ok. Put him on a fluid drip as he was dehydrated. Kept him in for 3 days on IV antibiotics but still can't get rid of cough. Let him out after lunch on Sunday but he has to rest for the next few days. Tried out the pool on Monday but didn't stay long - water was pretty cold. Had a run out to Shute Harbour and walked down to Coral Beach which is literally coral. Had a swim and walked to Beak Lookout which had great views. Parked at Abell Point and walked to Airlie Beach Lagoon for a swim. Drove to Northerlies bistro/bar/restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Very popular. Lovely pub with boat for a bar. I had chicken burger and Al had steak sandwich - both really good - chips very crunchy - yum. Saw a little stingray at the marina.
