Stopped at Gregory for a fuel and rest stop. Roos hopping about all over the place on the way here. Road mainly gravel except for dips which could be a bit vicious. The bitumen was the worst bit with savage drop offs and pot holes. What a disappointment was Adels Grove - thought it would be really nice. Previous owners had walked out and left it and it had been given back to the indigenous and they didn't have a clue or couldn't care. $40 a night for no power and very little water pressure and the toilets wouldn't flush - only consolation was the laundry was free. If they hadn't lit the boiler for the men's showers then the water was cold. More like a bush camp - apparently it used to be green and well looked after, now it is dry and overgrown and dusty. The waterhole here, however is lovely. Beautiful colour water and we went for a dip, a little cold at first but soothing. Had a drink with Dave and Mandy who we had met at Burke & Wills. Drove to Boodjamulla National Park to see Lawn Hill Gorge and the Indarri Falls and were told we could hire a canoe here. The fella here said we had to rent it back at Adels so we had to drive the 10k back only to be told there none available and the ones that were at the gorge had holes in them. We drove back to the park and walked to the gorge which was beautiful. Again that beautiful colour water and waterfalls which you could get behind to have your photo taken. Al got some great drone shots. The boat tour pulled in and there was a couple from Kincumber on it. Al cooked lamb in the camp oven, Mandy & Dave came over for a drink and then the couple from Kincumber popped over. We sat outside with the fire going, listening to music and watching the stars in the beautiful night sky. We had been told that people who had rented the canoes ($50) were given cut milk cartons to bale out the water cos they all leaked and the boat you could tour in (60) hardly worked or you were given paddles to get back when it broke down. Al managed to get a short surfski paddle in the creek but didn't see any crocs.
